Why I wrote the Manifesto
I wrote the AI Agents Manifesto as principles for how AI agents should be built and deployed. In September 2026 I tested it against the debate about pacing frontier AI. Four of the seven original principles held up. Three read too much like a description of the problem, so I rewrote them and added an eighth: verified trust over self-assessment. The question behind all of it is the one I now ask every firm - who checks your agent that didn't build it?
